Borage or starflower

Borago officinalis

Borage (lat. Borago officinalis), also known as a starflower. It is an annual herb plant from the family Boraginaceae. Borage is native to the Mediterranean region. Plant is used for culinary and medicinal purposes. The leaves of borage are edible. The plant is cultivated commercially for borage seed oil extracted from seeds.

Borage seeds contain up to 38%  oil, of which up to 28% is gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), probably the richest plant based source of GLA. Borage seeds oil is used in dietary supplements and therapeutic products.
